St George’s, Wakefield – improving communications to reach more people

St George’s is a thriving community organisation within a housing estate in Wakefield, providing essential services to the local community.

They wanted to reach more people locally, as well as improve communications outside the immediate estate and with commissioners. This would give a higher profile to their nursery, cafe and range of activities for young and old people with a focus on health and wellbeing.

As part of a whole organisation review, Locality reviewed their communications, wrote a new strategy, and helped them engage with a marketing and graphic design company ‘Let’s Dance’ based in Leeds. Together they developed a new brand which captures their values around the core idea of ‘a happy, welcoming space where local people can feel part of something’.

Locality and ‘Let’s Dance’ also set the approach for an impact report. St George’s have embraced the new signage, and are now embarking on a new website – all with the new brand. They’re excited about the future, looking fresher, running exciting community events and reaching more people locally.

“Clear and concise, Locality really captured the organisation very well, and has given a framework and some recommendations to follow. It’s easy for the whole organisation to use: trustees and staff.”
