Our sister organisations, DTA Scotland, DTA Wales and DTA Northern Ireland are growing the development trust movement in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Locality and many of our members are part of the International Federation of Settlements and Neighbourhood Centres, a global network connecting people working locally for social justice.
Scotland hosts one of the fastest growing networks of development trusts and community enterprises across the UK. Our Scottish members are serving diverse communities from the Scottish borders to the highlands and islands. There are over 100 members in Scotland including; Mull and Iona Community Trust, Fintry Renewable Energy Enterprise and Ekopia Resource Exchange Ltd. To find out more about DTA Scotland click here.
DTA Northern Ireland
DTA Northern Ireland was set up in 2010 to help grow the movement in Ireland. There already exists some exciting development trusts and community enterprises in Northern Ireland including The Cresco Trust and Tidal Ltd.
International Federation of Settlements and Neighbourhood Centres
The International Federation of Settlements and Neighbourhood Centres (IFS) is a global network that connects settlements and community organisations around the world. Its mission is to help build an inclusive global community by empowering, inspiring and connecting people who are working locally for social justice. Locality is part of the IFS, as are many of our members.
Locality’s Global Blog
Over the years the DTA, and more recently Locality have made links with many exciting and inspiring organisations across the globe who share our values of social justice, collective action and self reliance through enterprise and common ownership. To foster and grow an international network of like-minded organisations and to share the learning around community enterprise and community development beyond borders, we have set up a Locality Global Blog which will provide all the latest updates of development in the field of community enterprise and community development in the Far East, Australia and New Zealand among other areas To find out more click here.
