Locality campaigns on key issues which we know affect our members and the communities they serve.
We are also proud to support the campaigns of other third sector organisations, which we believe reflect our aims and mission.
Keep it Local: Local, community-focused services give us what we really need when we need it, often at a lower cost.
We are campaigning for public services to be commissioned and delivered at a neighbourhood level, not supplied by large-scale, centralised organisations.
Locality Public Sector Hero Awards: Our Public Sector Hero Awards recognise public sector employees or councillors who give outstanding support to the community sector.
Community Assets in Difficult Ownership: We’re running a campaign to raise awareness of precious buildings at risk from poor ownership.
Our past campaigns
Community Allowance Locality & partners’ campaign to enable community organisations to pay unemployed people for part-time work without it disrupting their benefits.
Campaigns we support
Life Support – Mind’s Life Support campaign shines a spotlight on the excellent ‘life support’ services being provided to people with mental health issues around the country, and makes the case for their funding to local authorities and other local commissioners.
Keep Volunteering Voluntary – Workfare schemes force unemployed people to carry out unpaid work or face benefit sanctions that can cause hardship and destitution. We believe in keeping volunteering voluntary and will not participate in government workfare schemes.
