Choosing a Legal Structure
This toolkit is for any community group thinking of establishing itself as a community anchor organisation – a community-led organisation operating in a local area and committed to positive change.
Want to set up a community organisation?
If you’re part of a community group which wants to become an ‘official’ organisation – this toolkit, written by Russell Cooke Solicitors, will help guide you through the process.
It’s designed to be used by Locality members in conjunction with support from Locality staff. Through modules, checklists, and templates, it will give you a clear understanding of some of the key elements of creating a community anchor organisation:
- choosing the right legal structure
- developing a governing document
- the roles and responsibilities of company directors and trustees
