Moseley Road Baths is special both as a highly significant heritage building and as a much loved and well used community pool in Balsall Heath, Birmingham.

It has a fantastic team of trustees, staff and volunteers, committed heritage partners and a strong business plan. Partners are currently developing a multi-million pound renovation and development plan,  and the CIO will play an active role in delivering this.

Person specification

We’re seeking someone who shares our passion for Moseley Road Baths both as a community pool and a heritage asset.  They will be unfazed by and skilled for a project of this scale.  They will be inclusive, honest and insightful with experience of governance. They will have the time to plan and lead our monthly meetings, liaise with managers, and work with our partners.

About the role

As with most chair roles, this will involve providing strategic leadership and coordination to the board, planning and chairing meetings, liaising with senior managers, and working with our partners on the future plans for the baths. The role is fully supported by able and active specialist trustees in all key aspects.

Please note

This is a fantastic, inspiring project and a once in a lifetime chance to be involved in turning round the fate of an asset that has been faced with dereliction for decades.

We’re keen to ensure that our board maintains and increases its reflection of the diversity of Balsall Heath’s population, in its age, cultural, social, ethnic and gender profile, in order to benefit from a wider range of perspectives and ensure we do not inadvertently exclude anyone from our activities.
