“Great leadership, intelligent proactive colleagues, inspiring members and trust and flexibility to do the job”

About The Role

In this role you will lead a team of skilled and committed professionals, raising the profile of Locality through brand development, communications, marketing and managing corporate and other partnerships. You will be responsible for internal and corporate communications, marketing and events, and will ensure a strong internal customer focus on marketing and business development supporting our diverse range of projects and programmes. You will also have lead responsibility for digital strategy, including lead responsibility for co-ordinating our approach to CRM across our teams including impact measurement and reporting.

Reporting to the CEO, you will exemplify Locality’s values and our principles of equality and social justice. You will be part of a small senior team, committed to success for our members to achieve positive change for communities across England.

Your Experience

  • Experience of managing and leading internal teams on marketing and communications strategies, along with the enthusiasm to develop and implement new ideas
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills gained from working at a senior level
  • An excellent understanding of charity and campaigning work, including public affairs campaigning.
  • Able to act as a senior leader in building and developing new partnerships and relationships to enhance our work and build our income streams.

This role is more likely to be suitable to a marketing professional with experience of running an integrated marketing and communications function within a multi-disciplinary organisation rather than a marketing/creative agency.

Our Diversity Policy

The sector in which Locality works is often dominated by people from white privileged backgrounds. We are looking for people that bring a different perspective so that we better reflect the communities we serve. We particularly welcome applications from those who are significantly underrepresented in our organisation and sector, such as Disabled people and people from communities experiencing racial inequity.

Where we have candidates of equal merit, we will prioritise selection and appointment of people who are from such backgrounds.

The current Covid 19 emergency has proved that our teams can work effectively from around the country.  So, although our Head Office is in Shoreditch, this post will remain flexible on location.
