Swarthmore is a centre for lifelong learning, community projects and family learning sessions as well as the courses and activities advertised in our brochure. Our main aim is to encourage people who want to learn but might not feel comfortable in more formal educational institutions. We work on a friendly, human scale, offering a confidential counselling service, on-site childcare and learning support. Many volunteers currently support the Centre’s work and we welcome their contributions of time and energy.

Person specification

Swarthmore Education Centre is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Jewellery Tutor to cover maternity leave from w/c 24th February 2020.

You will have excellent presentation, interpersonal, communication and written skills to support all aspects of learning, experience of teaching adults, and the appropriate qualifications at level 3 or above.

About the role

To plan, prepare, teach and assess the courses for which the job holder is employed, providing a high quality learning experience for students to allow them to achieve their full potential. This could be at Swarthmore Education Centre and/or out in the community.

You will be covering a maternity leave period from w/c 24th February 2020 to run the following classes:

  • Tuesdays : 12.15 pm – 2.15 pm
  • Tuesdays : 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm
  • Thursdays : 6.30 pm – 8.30 pm

To be considered for this role you must be practiced in teaching adults and hold relevant qualifications
