In 2018 the Museum became an Arts Council England National Partner Organisation and embarked on an ambitious set of activities aimed at engaging with London in a variety of ways.

A core part of the plan is Curating London, a contemporary collecting project that seeks to empower Londoners with a greater stake in the museum, its collections and wider vision through building meaningful local partnerships. Over four years from 2018 to 2022 we are seeking to transform the way the museum approaches contemporary collecting and how it works with communities beyond our museum walls.
