Health for All - transforming lives in Leeds!

Published: 11 May 2023

Health for All is a community organisation based in Leeds.

They have been providing vital support and services to local people for over 30 years – with the aim of finding practical ways to redress health inequalities and the impact of poverty.

Today, Health for All runs six community hubs and family centres across South Leeds. Their services range from peer support groups to foodbanks, creches to choirs.

A key part of their approach is to empower local people and communities, by providing them with the resources to set up and run their own initiatives. This has enabled them to engage traditionally harder to reach parts of their community including a wide range of different language and cultural groups.

In this film, we explore the incredible impact that Health for All makes.

“The main challenges we face are the sheer breadth and depth of the deprivation that the communities we serve experience. We genuinely do reduce social isolation. We do improve both physical and mental health, we bring people together so that they can form friendships, can draw on peer support from each other. And we try and address the impact of poverty on different families and communities”.
