The Kickstart Scheme has launched and provides funding to employers to create new 6-month job placements for young people who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment. This is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs and aims to create new, fully funded jobs across England, Scotland and Wales.

This scheme might be of interest if your organisation wants to get involved in relieving youth unemployment. However, the scheme requires eligible employers to create a minimum of 30 placements. Organisations with less than the minimum places will need to bid into the scheme as part of a group, with a representative body coordinating the bids.
