About this event
As part of the next phase for the Commission on the Future of Localism Locality, in partnership with Power to Change and Local Trust, have been working with four local authorities on an action-research project. In Cornwall, Southwark, Stevenage and Wigan, we have been working with community organisations and councils to explore how local authorities ambitious about strengthening the power of community can drive forward a radical new localism agenda.
This event in Bristol is an opportunity to bring together the participants from across the project areas, to network and learn about different approaches, policies and experiences around localism and community power.
Our agenda will be themed around the following workshops:
- Building powerful communities: confidence, participation and action
- A ‘power partnership’ approach community engagement
- Community control: sustainable infrastructure, ownership and enterprise
- Culture change for localism in local authorities
Please note participation to this event is by invitation only, and places are limited to people and organisations based in our four action research areas – Cornwall, Southwark, Stevenage and Wigan.
