About this event

In recent years there has been an increase in the number of community organisations pursuing housing developments, motivated by the need to address housing affordability and quality of condition and management.

Others have developed housing as part of a strategy to increase their organisational resilience, recognising its potential to address community need whilst creating a long-term income stream.

Join us for this exciting lunch-time online workshop session designed for Locality members and Power to Change grantees.

The workshop will introduce you to community-led housing and help you think about initiating your own community-led housing project.

It will explore different types of housing development, organisational governance and funding options, as well as providing an overview of the key opportunities and challenges which housing represents to community organisations.

This workshop will also include hearing directly from Southmead Development Trust, a community organisation who are leading a regeneration project to develop community-owned affordable housing and community facilities in Bristol.
