Optimism without action is just wishing on the stars. It doesn't bring change. Inspiring stories this morning at #Locality18.

We live in uniquely uncertain and challenging times – and national politics seems to offer little in the way of solutions. Despite this, more and more places are finding their own answers – by building strong local partnerships that unlock the power of community. This plenary will hear how councils and funders have been coming together with local communities to create positive social change and transform lives.

6.30pm Locality Awards

Presented by: Howard Bradley, Strategic Lead, LS14 Trust and hosted by Jo Williams and Kathryn Roper, Membership team, Locality.

Join us in celebrating some of the most dedicated and inspiring people and organisations in the Locality network.

We were brought to tears by the resilience talk by @bearpitsocial at the #Locality18 event last week. I had an amazing time and that talk was purely inspirational.

Day two

9am Locality AGM

If you’re a Locality community member, or Locality community partner, you can attend our annual AGM.

10am Plenary: Commoners Choir

For too long, our protests have been soundtracked by earnest young men with megaphones barking “What do we want? When do we want it?”. Commoners Choir will show us that there are new and different ways of singing our opposition, and will invite people to be part of a quick and easy singalong protest. Anger, fun and participation, and you don’t need a ‘proper’ singing voice (whatever that is).

10.30am Your choice of workshop or visit
