At Convention in November, Locality members asked for an initial workshop on community led housing starting with the basics. This session will explore the rationale for community led housing and look at the journey from the idea to people living in the properties. The session will be interactive, giving the opportunity to bring learning from across the network.
Community led housing is a general term which covers new build and purchase and refurbishment, housing for sale and for rent, for people in housing need or with specific needs. It can be developed as part of a wider approach to community development or regeneration.
This session will give an overview of why and how community led housing is delivered. It will cover the five stages of community led housing with examples. There will be opportunities to learn from other participants.
