Housing & Homelessness
We renovate empty properties with volunteers and homeless people, who become our tenants after creating good quality affordable homes for themselves. We bring derelict property back into use, house homeless families, train unemployed people in construction skills, create jobs, improve community cohesion and contribute to the regeneration of disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

Locality remind us we are not alone in striving for better places with stronger communities.

Locality help us share best practice with like-minded organizations in a structured environment. They offer a sound overview of the changing policy environment and keep us one step ahead when looking for new funding streams. More than anything though, they remind us time and time again that we are not alone in striving for better places with stronger communities.

Networking with Locality members

We are an award-winning self-help housing organization with twenty years experience of bringing empty homes back into use. Our volunteering programme, through which unemployed and homeless people learn construction skills is particularly effective. From time to time, we offer open days to Locality members. We are now exploring how to expand our model to be able to offer similar volunteering opportunities on new-build projects and would love to speak to organizations looking to do the same.
