What does Lifeboat provide?
Every situation is different, which is why Lifeboat is a personalised service tailored to your organisation’s needs. It’s flexible, rapid and solution-focused.
We answer every Lifeboat request within two working days, and will come out to meet you to assess the situation.
We can help with identifying critical issues, stabilising cash flow, developing business turnaround plans, negotiations with creditors, HR issues, options appraisal, legal matters and more.
Central to the success of the Lifeboat service is our collaborative approach with the organisation in crisis and appropriate stakeholders.
Who’s eligible for Lifeboat support?
Lifeboat offers one-to-one, confidential advice and support to any Essentials or Membership Plus Locality member who has been in paid membership for at least 12 consecutive months.
Even if you don’t meet these criteria, we urge any member facing difficulties to get in touch, as there may be other ways we can support you.
The sooner we know about a problem, the easier it is for us to help.

Lifeboat is for organisations in crisis, but Essentials and Membership Plus members can use our online diagnostic tool Lighthouse for free to help spot and respond to problems before a crisis hits.
