Ahead of the General Election, Locality have published a manifesto calling on the next government to rebalance power to our communities, strengthen community ownership and invest in our local infrastructure and public services.
The manifesto includes four policy proposals to the next government:
- A national £1bn Community Ownership Fund
- A radical new localism agenda, with a new wave of local powers to communities.
- Keep public services local and turn the tide on outsourcing
- Put communities in charge of major social, economic and regeneration funds.
We are sending our manifesto to the political parties, asking their spokespeople to respond and tell us how they would unlock the power of community and support strong and successful community organisations and their vital work. We will be sharing the responses as we receive them.
Our manifesto also includes top campaigning tips for how Locality members can be a strong and powerful voice during this election.
