Locality delivering Local Covenant Partnerships fund

Locality is supporting 15 local areas to share power with the public sector through the new Local Covenant Partnerships fund, funded by the UK Government.

If you're in one of the 15 areas chosen we want your views by Sunday 1 November.

The Government has chosen Locality, alongside our partners Collaborate CIC, Renaisi and Demos, to deliver the £11.59m Local Covenant Partnerships fund, funded by the UK Government.

At Locality we see so many brilliant community organisations spending every day meeting the needs of their neighbourhood, but they rarely get a seat at the table where the decisions that shape it are made. Through this programme we want to help these places build real partnerships between civil society and councils. Genuine power-sharing relationships, where local knowledge helps tackle people's priorities and the community themselves can shape the funding, services and decisions that matter locally. This is a chance to show what becomes possible when communities can shape their own future.

Over three years we will invest targeted grant funding to create new 'local covenant partnership' agreements between VCSE organisations and councils in 15 local authority district areas in England, with a particular focus on groups representing marginalised and minoritised communities, and Disabled People's Organisations. The areas shortlisted by the government are:

  • Barnsley
  • Blackpool
  • County Durham
  • East Lindsey
  • Halton
  • Hartlepool
  • Kingston upon Hull
  • Knowsley
  • Liverpool
  • Middlesbrough
  • North East Lincolnshire
  • Nottingham
  • Redcar and Cleveland
  • Sunderland
  • Tendring

If you are a VCSE organisation or public body based in one of these 15 areas, we want to hear your views.

You can complete a short survey to share what’s working well in how local government and civil society organisation work together, where there are challenges, and how relationships, communication and community involvement could be strengthened.

Your views will help us build a picture of local partnership working and identify opportunities to improve collaboration.

Please note: This survey is for organisations based in the 15 participating areas only. It closes on Sunday 1 November. Click here to start: LCP Fund Local Area Survey
