New report, released by ARCHES (Locality, Leeds Beckett University and Social Life) argues that the failure of health and local authority commissioners to listen to the expertise of community organisations is preventing us tackling health inequalities.

On 23 March, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities announced that 83 projects had been awarded grants totalling £33.5 million, with Locality members being awarded £6.9 million.

In response to the government's Autumn Statement, Locality is calling for power and resources to be shifted to local communities. We're calling for a community power revolution.

The annual Locality Awards recognise and celebrate the impact and innovation shown by local community organisations and councils across the country.

West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership becomes the first Integrated Care System to sign up to Locality's Keep it Local campaign, following six Keep it Local principles to focus on prevention, support local community organisations, commission and work collaboratively, and invest in the local economy.

Locality and The Guardian have awarded local community organisations across the UK £10k each in cost-of-living grants. These grants are intended to help local community organisations to strengthen their services and support around cost of living issues.

Following our campaigning alongside others, new government funding has been launched for community organisations supporting with the increased cost of living. Open until noon 16 October 2023.
